Holly is a native Houstonian and a major contributor to foundations and charities in Texas. She has worked in the family business with her brothers and father, Robert L. Waltrip, who founded the family funeral home and cemetery company in 1962 called Service Corporation International. SCI is an American provider of funeral goods and services as well as cemetery property. SCI operates more than 1500 funeral homes and 400 cemeteries in 43 states, eight Canadian provinces, and Puerto Rico.

In her spare time, Holly is not only an asset and board member of Susie Bean Gives but also a board member of Dec My Room. This organization decorates rooms at the Texas Children’s Cancer Center (TCCC) and MD Anderson’s Cancer Hospital for patients expected to be in the hospital for at least 4 weeks. By the end of 2008, every child admitted to the Bone Marrow Transplant at TCCC receives a personalized and decorated room. By 2010, every child needing prolonged care at TCCC now receives a decorated room. In addition to decorating rooms, they also host special birthday parties for children in the hospital.

Holly lives in Houston, TX with the love of her life, Mike Long, and many, many frogs and birds.
